Still amazed this exists but through a "funded organisation" we have been sent some real quality people who are employed but want to study (digital marketing in this case) and we have to pay 10% of the course circa £100 a month - they are paid by the Gov.

We have employed an Oxford Physics grad with a desire to get webby which we will endeavour to fulfil to the full.

I will pay them a bonus etc but still astounded by this, I am sure there are many organisations doing this but we used Remit in Notts

This could be of interest to me for a start-up we have on the go.

Is it national?

Is it an apprenticeship programme and you got lucky with the applicant?

He starts in 10 days, the course work is 3 hours a week in house and I`ll probably do it for him (joke) - we are adding to his Gov wage and for ONCE I think I am winning at the Euro gravy train game.

OK update to show I am not adverse to highlighting my fkwittery. Our brilliant new apprentice has started, he is a great lad and will go far but is he £90 a month er no! We pay his £17,500 salary and £90 a month training on a course he just doesnt need.

Sold a pup? not quite as he is well worth £17,500 but missold a pup - probably.

What have a learned from this - if it walks like a duck and quacks still check its a duck

What have we gained - a quite brilliant apprentice who we probably wouldn't have found conventionally.

Episode 1 in a series of how to fk things up in business.

Ties in with what I was told.

Did you have to pay a recruitment fee as well?

No other fee, training and wages - feel like I did when I first fell for the "we can slash your rates bill" scam.

LOL Yep know as I has to hurriedly "onboard" him after finding out I was paying his wages.
