There must have been a nicer way to rig that top bit of spanner truss than Doughty clamps and odd angles. Surely could've build a rectangular grid and just flown the whole thing out directly off the 4 chain motors?
Could have put your reindeer down the 2 edges of your grid that way. (SL and SR) would've saved you guessing whether or not the lines were parallel too.
I'm just guessing though. Perhaps they were limited by what points they had up top.
