Is anyone else considering getting a release copy of Assassin's Creed Origins tomorrow ?

Mixed pre-release reviews, but I like the idea of roaming around Egypt.

biggrin

Though in hindsight I wish I'd pre-ordered Wolfenstein II instead.

Nice.

The initial user reviews are quite positive - I might well have to "pull the trigger" on a release day priced copy.

Might give this a try in a few months or so, generally got a bit bored of AC a few games back, however this does look pretty good!

I might wait for Black Friday - partly for the price savings, but mainly in the hope that the first few patches have trickled through by then.

Based on the reviews and game play videos, it looks like my kinda game.

LIkewise, enjoying things so far. Definitely a more open-world semi-RPG vibe to it, which is no bad thing. Bayek is a very likeable character too, unlike some of the arrogant asshats in the previous games.

Wish they'd just stick with standard controls though - been playing a bit of AC1 & 2 over the past couple of weeks in the run up and just as I'm getting used to the controls again they go and change them rolleyes I'm too old for that sort of st hehe

Apparently there's an Alternate Controls scheme setting which is closer to previous ACs.

EDIT: Made a detour following a dump run today, installing now.

Enjoying it so far - other than the fight mechanics.

Thoroughly enjoying this game. The world is an attractive one, the story is immersive, and so far I've experienced only 1 crash in probably 16 hours of play.

Really enjoying this game and a return to good form for the series and up there with AC2 and Black Flag IMO.

I bought Syndicate but found that although it looked great, the gameplay was repetitive and got boring quickly.

Main story-line completed. There's still quite a lot of missions / challenges left to mop up, but it's been a bit of a time-sink. I think I'll leave it to dip into every now and then now.

Overall I enjoyed it, my sort of game. A lot of time has been spent on the environment. It's been ages since I last found something to keep my attention - last was probably GTA V.

Available in-store at Tesco for £32 as part of Black Friday I believe.

Very tempted, but I also want Sims 4, CoD WaW2 and Forza 7!

I've been playing this for nearly a week now on PC.

It's definitely one of the better AC games; it's between this, Black Flag and Rogue (a seriously underrated game, far better than Unity which released in the same year) as to which is my favourite.

I've racked up 35 hours in this game pretty quickly. Really enjoying it, the setting is terrific.

The Animus makes only a tiny appearance but is still frustrating when you are pulled out of the world.

I suspect I am near the end of the main story (I've spent most of my time on the side quests, 90 done so far). I hope there's plenty to do afterwards but I think I've had my monies worth if there isn't.

I had this free when I bought my new PC hardware, and installed it on my upgraded HTPC for the 55" OLED TV. Had a play today and really enjoyed it, it's such a beautiful game (4k and ultra settings). I love PS4's Horizon: Zero Dawn, and gameplay's similar.

Still getting to grips with the controls though, using the eagle properly...

Am still loving this! Have played way too many hours, the map is huge. I have never played any AC games before, is Black Flag worth a try?
