I have an aftermarket spoiler on my R8 and want to disable the rear wing. I assumed there would be a fuse but having searched various forums there doesn't seem to be an easy solution. Does anyone know how to prevent the OEM wing from rising?

Whilst I'm not familiar with the R8, removing a fuse will bring up an error (or several). This may not be a problem if the fuse only powers the wing? but the best way IMO would be to disable it in the car's setup using VCDS or similar. Unless, of course it is configurable from the MMI - or whatever screen/interface system R8s have?

I suspect it will depend on which year your car is. I have a 2008 and it's not something I've seen as being configurable from the settings interface in the car.

The post above looks like your best option but if you require more views, head over to R8talk.com - loads of very helpful R8 enthusiasts on there.

That's usually the way to do these things.

VCDS is very useful, I've made several changes to both mine other cars and whilst it's not cheap to buy, it's well worth it IMO because if you got a dealer to make these small changes (if they would even do them?), they'd probably charge you as much as buying the VCDS cable for a one-off.

You should be able to find a local VCDS user that could make the change for you, it would only take a couple of minutes. If you were local to me I'd happily do it/let you do it with my setup.

Thanks all, very helpful

I shall investigate the VCDS suggestion and have a look on R8talk.

(Its a 2007 car)
