Okay so awhile ago, I reclined my driver's seat to let my sister in the back and it wouldn't lock back into place but after awhile it clicked back. It wasn't long till it happened again this time it's not locking back in place.

The bottom tilt bit is stiff and the top lever that collapses it is loose. The runners under the seat click in its just annoying driving it.

I've removed the seat out of my car and it's here. The car is a Peugeot 208 GTI and it's 63 plate. I've tried jumping on it and pushing it outwards like most people say fixes it but it's not working for me.

I just hope I don't need to buy another GTI seat or replace them both with bucket seats.

I only bought the car in February and I took out a third party warranty so I'm wondering if I could claim back on it.

I suspect you didn't recline your seat to let someone in the back as it would then be in their way. Recline means lay back as in when you are sat on the seat you put the back down to allow you to lie back in the seat.

Having got that out of the way I assume you mean you tilted the seat forward to allow someone in the back.

I don't know your seats specifically but there are generally 2 levers/knobs to change the back angle one will change the back angle for when you are sat in it & one to tilt the seat forward to allow someone access to the back.

Is the one you used back in it's original position?

Is there spring resistance on the lever?

If not you may need to re-attach the lever/mechanism.

There's a lever at the bottom that adjusts the recline angle, this one is quite stiff and won't budge.

Then there's one at the top which collapses the seat forward then you let someone in the back, then it's meant to click back in place.

Here's my seat. If I tilt the backrest back it'll push back foreward.

Thanks.

In that case it sounds like the wire that runs from the top lever down to the seat latch/lock mechanism has broken/come off/the latch is stuck.

You need to get in there basically.

Some are renowned for this, Binis/Corsas spring to mind as common culprits of exactly this.
