Just changed our mobile phones to Sky from EE for a considerably better deal. The problem is Sky's carrier is O2 and the signal in the house is very poor and keeps dropping out to 'no service'.
Has anybody tried the signal boosters? They are pretty pricy at around £140 if they are a bit of a gimmick, do they work?

I've used the o2 booster boxes and currently use a Vodafone one. Both good in the house.

If you start a call on one and then wander off it will drop. Which is annoying.

Also if you're on an iPhone and the carrier supports it wi-fi calling could be an option?

Yes both got iPhones, how do we get onto wi-fi calling?

Get help
Go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling and make sure that Wi-Fi Calling is on.

Restart your iPhone.

Connect to a different Wi-Fi network. Not all Wi-Fi networks work with Wi-Fi Calling.

Turn Wi-Fi Calling off and then on again.

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

Last I checked, sky didn’t offer WiFi calling.
Femtocell/signal boost box is what you want. Don’t know if sky offer one.

We live in the middle of the Dorset countryside in a 300 year old cottage. No phone signal, no landline either (or any intention to acquire one). If it wasn't for EE allowing wifi calling we wouldn't be contactable by phone the conventional way. Our internet is only 7meg max really, usually hovers around 4-5 though.

But I don't care a jot. We live in the Dorset countryside.

Keep an eye on your battery if using wifi calling as it eats into that at an astonishing rate.

Yes I will be better off after a year. So probably worth getting, I was concerned over there effectiveness and whether they did what they say!
