Hi All,

I've got a bit of cash 'burning a hole' in my company pocket.

Earning bugger all interest at the bank and not enough to buy a property with outright.

No other real assets that the business needs at the moment - all IT'd up as far as needs be. No other loans etc - just a car on lease which works well for what we need it for.

Have considered a Defender 90 - as a bit of a toy more than anything else - but we do a lot of work out in the sticks and occasionally do end up borrowing a Hilux off a company who we work with. However, a Defender would perhaps hold it's money better than a Hilux.

Is buying property perhaps the best option???

Well, good for you!

The answer depends on many variables.

Are you looking to grow your business - fatten it up for a tasty exit later on? If so, invest in someone or something that will support this; new salesperson, acquisition of another business.

Is the sector secure or vulnerable? - if the latter; hold onto the cash until you need it.

Start another complimentary business.

Or pay yourself a nice Christmas bonus.

It would probably help to understand what your business was - is there room for expansion, do you currently have premises that you rent, future ambitions of the company etc...

Any of your employees got a killer idea which could bring in new revenue? If you offered the some sort of profit share they might be willing to share an idea they might otherwise not be in a rush to share.

Would an outlander fit the bill for your off-road needs? If so, one of the PHEV versions will get you 100% write off year one I think? I bought an e-golf recently for similar reasons (didnt need a 4WD) so also very interested in others comments. I assume you have maxed out pension contributions, have the wife (if you have one) as a director etc?
