Hello I'm looking for some advice for buying a MIG welder (in the USA) Don't really want to go over $600

Hey, for that budget I'd probably go for the Hobart or Lincoln 140 (both super reliable), but there's quite a few factors to take into consideration. This guide >> http://www.kingsofwelding.com/buyers-guides/best-mig-welder-reviews is the best I've seen online for choosing a welder and also has a decent guide for you to start welding.

Yeah someone else recommended the Hobart 140. Thanks for the link - looks v useful! Makes me tempted to go cheaper though, some of the $300/$400 ones like the Forney 140 and Longevity MIGweld sound like they will do the job.

yes an auto darkening helmet made a big difference to the quality of my welding, especially in the accuracy of the starting point!
