Terminal boredom. I had one as a company car. Rentals apart, the dullest motor I've ever had. But it was reliable.

The current generation?

If it is VEA powered (the 2.0 4 cyl engines) the diesels have had a number of problems with EGR valves (or more precisely the EGR cooler) in earlier cars, but they seem to have resolved those issues in recent years and on the earlier cars with the updated EGR system. If it has not then expect it to at some point on the earlier cars.

2014 D3 2.0 diesel, so is it the 4cyl or 5cyl?

My dad has a mid spec model with the 1.6 diesel engine.
It drives much like a mid spec 1.6 diesel Focus with slightly more comfortable seats, worse rear visibility and an incomprehensible infotainment system.
Personally, I'd save a few quid and choose the Focus instead.
