Cycle clothing for FBs
Discussion
I need a windproof jacket as I want to keep cycling as the weather gets colder.
I used to be 38 waist and 44 chest, but I've had extra holes put in my belt since then, so I am slightly less fat than I was. According to the 'sizing guide' I ordered an Altura Peloton Windproof Jacket size XL. Also Endura Thermolite Pro Bib Tights size XL.
Basically, the bib tights are fine, but the jacket is far too small. Can't find that jacket in XXL, so have gone for Endura Windchill ll in XXL, I just hope it isn't too big.
I've found that all the tops I've bought have come up quite small, is this normal, and do us fat blokes just have to buy big? Any recommendations for cycle clothing for dumpies?

It's quite the lottery, there is variation across different companies and different products within their ranges.
A lot will require you to upsize, eg Castelli I am an XL in their Gabba but happily wear L in Rapha, Craft, Chapeau.
I also bought an Altura Pelton LS jersey for spring / autumn and originally went for large as that matched the sizing chart, but when it turned up it was really tight across the shoulders and chest, the XL is fine.
If a garment is described as pro or race cut then I'd size up, it's going to be a close fitting garment.

Some great stuff there - love the idea of 'Fat Lad at the back' But priced rather high for me.
As a FB the kit I have been buying comes from all over the place. Just recently found BXIO https://www.bxio.org/ They sell through Aliexpress & go up to 5XL! Fits well & seems well made.
Although the wife hates this one!

I've found sizing to be random as well. However what I have found is that if I put an L under shirt on, then it kinda... squashes all the fat? So that I can then wear the L tops that I have and look great.
Definitely need a changing room to get out of it though.I actually have two items that just emphasises this craziness. A set of bib "tights" and bib "trousers" from the same brand - both XL. However, the trousers are a lovely comfortable fit; both on the legs and over the shoulders. On the other hand, with the tights I end up crouched over like Quasimodo - the braces are just too short! I have no idea who sizes this stuff.

On the other hand maybe not!!
The Endura windchill ll XXL from Wiggle arrived on Saturday, it's a very nice jacket - I've looked out this morning and chickened out of testing it, bought it for the cold, but the frost and idleness have put me off this morning.

I've had an Altura Night Vision Commuter Jacket for about 7 years and its been pretty good. Waterproof, so it can get quite hot, but when the weather gets cold, its very useful at blocking out everything. I would certainly recommend their jackets. Also have an Altura jersey, but that isn't that great.
I'm about a 44 chest and have one of these in 2XL:

(Strangely 2XL isn't available from Wiggle anymore, but I ordered mine on Monday so they're probably available elsewhere).
