Hello guys,

Sorry if there is an explanation for this somewhere on the forum but after digging for a few days I've given up so here I am redface)

My 07 V8Vantage is showing me the aforementioned message, but very oddly only if I turn the key to "position 1". If I put the key in and turn it straigh to "position2", system check goes through and no airbag message comes.

I understand that there are two thin cables with a dodgy-ish connector under the seats that normally plays up in some awkward seat position, but not sure if the message would jut go if the conection is back to normal or I would still need to see an AM dealer for a very expensive instant coffee to clear the code and find out what had caused the issue...

I'm also worried that the savety system might not be working untill the message is cleared, or the issue sorted...

I was trying to read the code with my Indy mechanic but his mashine has no access to other than engine related data.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

For the body systems you need to connect the OBD tool to the OBD socket on the passenger side and try vovlo settings to read the fault code. IIRC it is Volvo XC90 but not 100% sure, just try until you get a reading.
Alternativly you could get the Foxwell NT510 OBD Reader with Aston Software.
I hope this helps you

Cheers

I had the same issue recently, the SRS urgent service message came on and wouldn't reset when I started the car but would suddenly go off for weeks before coming on again. The dealership found that a sensor was faulty and replaced it when it came on while they had the car for service.

The part numbers is 1Z7G4314B426AB SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR which was only $71 so surprisingly cheap.

Thank you for the ideas guys!

Just trying my luck again if other might read this, anyone is using an independent garage in-or-around London who might be able to help with the readings?

Hello guys,

sorry for the post resurrection but still no luck sorting out this issue so though I'll ask around again if any of you had this and managed to find the way to fix it?

I'm tempted to buy new "seat position sensors" as they are not expensive, since it seems to be an issue with the wires under the passenger seat...

Any info helps!

I got the "SRS Airbag.." message when I tried to mute the annoing seat belt bing-bing-bing by unplugging the seat belt buckle sensor.
So a broken wire here could be a potential culprit as well.

As for the "position sensor" AFAIK its only in for the memory seats?

Little OT, but can I suggest this for around 1,50 € to avoid the bing bing bing? wink

Ah yes you are probably right, I don't have memory seats so probably don't have those...

I thought about that...but ended up buying a second hand buckle, removed the switch and plugged it in - it's peaceful and quiet since.

OT finished...
