Has the pendulum swung too far against the racy comment from a fella.

Girls in my day gave as good as they got, but am I the only guy who thinks ladies of today are snowflakes.

I may be an old f@rt, but the banter was honest and we knew when to stop. It's serious when guys are under suspicion for a remark 15 years ago and now could and do lose their job.

What has happened to us all or is it just me .

In the offices I used to work in 15-20 years ago everyone was shagging someone at some point. About 80 staff, 60 blokes 20 women. There were a lot of sloppy seconds, work parties were interesting. Big whoop. Everyone adults and knew what they were doing FFS. Sounds like some sad people chasing the $$$$..

I don't know why don't you ask Bex Bailey?

My post referred to old fashioned office banter and a more relaxed and tolerant atmosphere than today.

Curious that you should suggest it implied rape which nobody condones.

I have to say that my wife, and both my grown-up daughters think this is all utter nonsense, especially the retrospective nature of it.

I knew what you meant :-) he was just being a PITA.

I think people are a lot more sensitive now.
Before you could just tell a woman she is atttactive, now you can't incase she says you sexually assaulted her.

While I don't mins the retrospective nature it can be open to abuse and I don't like the public witch hunt that occurs before being actually found guilty.

Sadly it is the usual case of a massive jerk in the correct direction that has over swung.

It will settle back over the years to come but just like it is currently assumed that a white on black crime is automatically considered to have a racist element yet a black on white is not, many men will have to deal with being as unable to defend such allegations as women once felt unable to make valid ones.

Eventually we will hit 6 o'clock but it will take time.

Do we have to continue this Americanism of putting gate at the end of words.

I don't call my boot a trunk and I have a bonnet not a hood on my car. I watch films not movies etc.

Good point. But in your profile you spell jewellery as jewelry, so y’know... laugh

Groups of young women in some work places would play seriously sexual jokes on young apprentices

I deal with jewellery worldwide but when its in north America I use their word for it. However as I have just moved companies I need to change my profile.

Its not right either way.

Ask yourself this
If your wife or daughter or son came home from work saying that somebody had tried touching them in a suggestive manner would you just say it was over reaction? If they made rude comments to them, became overly familiar or suggestive? Used their position to bully them in this way?

Wasn't right then isn't right now,it needs to stop. This is the 21st century ffs.

I suspect that the minister has resigned because there have been other incidents which are keeping him awake at night.

The rule makers of our country have to obey the laws they pass, sexual harrasment is against the law,if they don't behave they have no place in parliament.

No chance.

I agree with the point you’re making, but, these people are never contrite or remorseful. They resign because they’re told they’re an embarrassment and that they’re out, whether they like it or not. The resignation is just a facade.

I think allegations should be made privately to law enforcement. It's so obscenely easy to ruin someone's life just by alleging something. We have a legal system, "trial by media" shouldn't be a thing.

And said "media" is of course very well versed in dodging libel. It just has to make it clear that someone else made the allegation.

Depends if they tried to give her the ol' Tuna finger or simply put his arm on her shoulder and said "Hey, you look nice today".

This is the 21st century ffs.
Where sexual assault is almost exclusively at the discretion of the female rolleyes

Channing Tatum could probably get away with a lot more than, for example, I could, with a random woman.

In our workplace we have been unofficially warned not to talk about Brexit as it might be considered harassment of foreign workers.

I’m concerned this turns into a witch hunt but putting your hand a woman’s knee out of the blue is a liberty. Probably then and definitely now. There is an air of self entitlement about some of these knobs who think they can help themselves because of their power.
Imagine this goes on through many big corporations. Trouble is there won’t be anyone left in government at this rate.
