It's just struck me - I'm getting old. What has brought this realisation?

I just saw a couple with a shopping trolley and my first instinct was to think "Hmmm that's actually quite a practical thing to have..." rather than "dear Lord Why would you?"

Anyone else had similar moments where you realise that "st, I'm old!"?

You're not old until your children reach state retirement pensionable age.

Which will be extended further every few years, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. smile

You read and realise the abject nonsense written by young people in The Lounge.

...and your car insurance goes down rather than up.

Yep, I now have a nice pair of walking shoes for dog walking, I used to wear my canvas Converse All Stars and if I got wet feet, well I got wet feet, I didn't care as I was young!

I'm hearing adverts by Idris Elba for Sky Q suggesting that you can record 6 channels whilst watching a 7th. I thought to myself who the fk watches that much TV, but it's probably young people and a sign I'm getting old.

I think it's one of Billy Connolly's "you know you're getting old when you buy elasticated waist trousers".

ALL my trousers and shorts are elasticated waist. Not easy to get a suit, but do-able.biggrin

I'm getting increasingly confused by technology, especially computers.

All my music is on CD, rather than MP3's

Bought some sort of off road / hill walking / multi-pockets trousers out of Mountain Warehouse recently... under much protest I hasten to add as they are what old man wear and I prefer my jeans but she insisted. Hardly ever seen wearing anything else. Joined Historic Scotland. Makes noises when I drag myself off the sofa. Tend to get a bit miffed with the ride comfort the 40 series tyres provide. Hangovers last several days...

Bah, pass the boiled sweets...

i feel old when i go on youtube. People have millions of views from shows that are basically dumbed down bks. The set gags the giving to tramps , the set ups, the fawning over the latest mega money car, like it is so easy. i just don't any why it is interesting to watch.

I felt old when I saw an old lady with a stick shuffling through Waitrose. I realized she was the horny young babe who first introduced me to erotic sex, FIFTY YEARS AGO !!
