I'm in the process of trying to get my boss to adopt a more digital approach to our work, I'm after some software that will allow the guys to sign on and off jobs and also show how many linea metres/square metres of work they've produced in a chosen time.

There is some software called Job Tracker for our industry, but at nearly NZ$450 a month its a bit over kill for the volume of work we do.

So I'm after something our office manage can program the jobs into with as much info as possible (plans, addresses, revisions etc). And the guys just click on a job when its started and finished.
Then every week/month I can see how many jobs have been done, how many metres have been processed and the number of slabs used.

We use Jira for software development jobs, it offers lots of customisation and isn't expensive.

Might be worth a look to see if it could work for you.

Thanks, though that is a bit complicated even for me. which means my boss would have a nervous breakdown trying to navigate it.bbiggrin

You could use Toggl and have each worker just enter the number of metres produced in the description field once they've finished.
