I have the opportunity to buy a Mk3 Chim 450 on Estorils registered in Jan 2003.
It has 15" on the front but understand that last 100 cars were on 16s.
Is that correct?
Are front 16s available anywhere, like hens teeth I know!!!

As far as I know you are correct - 16" front and rear (Seen a couple with Estorils as standard). Perhaps when a previous owner had the car, they did not likes the 16" Imola's and decided to fit a set of Estorils instead!

I think that the Estorils look better on the car, but that is a personal choice.

Yep totally agree on looks.
Perhaps the statement of the last 100 Chims on 16s referred to Imolas but I previously had a year 2000 Chim and that had 16" Imolas from new.
A lot of Mk3s seem to be on Estorils so just wanted to know if they did have Estorils should they be 16" on the front?
Is it feasible to fit 16" rears on the front?

I think that's the normal "solution", look out for a full set (15 & 16) for sale and sell the four 15's to an S Series owner

The last good set of Estorils I saw on ebay went for £900. A certain breaker wants £1500!

Last week on eBay there was, very briefly, a set of four Estorils for £300.00 Buy Now! They were scruffy but a real bargain.

Sold for:
£300.00
[ 1 bid ]
