I heard if you do get it mapped, it could be the fastest thing ever according to what I have read here previously.

335D re-mapping is legendary.

Not sure if that’s a tongue in cheek comment what I am after is trying to get that 0 to 60 down to around 4 seconds if that’s possible. Thanks for the reply.

Well std theyre 0-60 in 4.8, remapped will be low 4secs to 60. Would you like a list of the "performance" cars that will get destroyed by the diesel rep mobile

I had to get my car remapped

It had 2010 the map and my house wasn't built till 2013, it also didn't have the hindhead tunnel.

You'll pick up about another 70BHP/100ishNm with the DPF still in depending on who you go to. And depending on what tool they're using (Alientech Ktag can do it for certain, you could say I use it frequently) the tuning can be hidden from manufacturers diagnostic tools. The only crap thing about them is the ECU needs either a small hole drilling in it or opening up and the board flipping over to access pins on the back side of the PCB - this does have the risk of snapping traces in the PCB though (the board is glued into the case).

Will void your engine warranty, on a bmw if that causes an issue it will cost a fortune to repair from your own pocket so i would think again if it is under warranty.

Why do you want it to be 4 secs to 60? Are you going drag racing or do you want bragging rights?

^^This, nothing is going to leave a 335d behind on the road so is it worth the expense?

At the very least wait until you are out of warranty for the car, you must have at least 1 year to go. Then, it also depends on how you own the car - a lease means that you may have problems when giving it back. If you are owning long term, you have to consider the lifespan of many components within engine when getting high power remaps. There is a company called race chips who have a chip which you can turn on or off and more importantly can remove, but this may still affect your warranty. There is also the BMW M Performance Package Kit which adds a remap (if I am correct) alongside some M Performance parts for the body e.g. decals, lip spoiler, new bumpers etc.

4.8s is still very fast, the same 35d engine in my X5 makes it 7.0s to 60, 6.5s to 60 after remapping, but these are heavy cars, in comparison to a 3 series. Our X5 is also considerably older than your 3 series.

Tread carefully when it comes to remapping, it's not that simple.

Also, you should know, as you're new here, that the 335d is considered the 'fastest car going' on PistonHeads, although that can also be taken by a mildly chipped Golf R, rumoured to do 200mph.

On a side note, where is mapped335d nowadays on PH? Boost couldn't be handled by the turbos?

A friend mapped his 335d and ruined It. Was too brutal/rough. Went back to standard after 6 months. Much more success with the 330d he had previously.

Simon at emaps is the person to contact for 335d. Had my 635d remaped last year. Fantastic improvement, 360 bhp, 700 newton metres of torque, no loss of mpg.

The Alpina D3 delivers M3 performance with around 350bhp. However Alpina carry out more mods than just a remap.

Yeah but you have to Gareth Cheeseman (Coogan) level sales rep to get a 335d.

How is a 911 going to get past a 335d in the real world?

Someone needs a current 335d xdrive pic with Picard photoshopped in saying 'engage' hehe

If you want faster just buy a C63 AMG and get a decent noise to go with it.

I'll guarantee you that a 335d using 400bhp a lot will get a terrifically poor mpg too.

this ^^

my boggo 2wd 335d is on 25mpg (but then i actually use it, rather than just talk about it ;-)

I can't see any point in mapping then tbh. A few extra ponies on an already fast car doesn't an M3 suddenly make. If you want an M3, just buy and M3, and get all the much better driving dynamics and all the extra subjective benefits of a proper sports car

Unicorn in Stockport remapped my 335d xdrive msport. Bog standard actual ran 320bhp with a k and n. After a remap it peaked at 400bhp and averaged 376bhp big thanks to Rich and Mario who know the stuff. Gone has the lag and the pull is smooth constant and progressive instead of lumpy. Average 36mpg over various driving.
I had a tuning box on originally which was OK but the loom melted iving error code. The individual remap is more money but worth it, but that's my opinion. The 335d is a proper sleeper mines the xdrive gt Msport which is a bit of a yacht but now gets down the road a lot better than before😜😝👍

Wow, that's pretty quick as standard. I'm looking for something more exciting for my commute and 335d xDrive seems to fit the bill, especially if it's still capable of returning 36mpg!

Definitely not looking at remapping though as I require a reliable (but fun) workhorse.
