Twisted Seat Belts

Can anyone answer the this question... Or has has someone found an alternative?

Why is it that when once your belt twists in its loop runner it contiues to twist every time you use it?

Are there other runners available, preferably shinny ones?

TADTS I am afraid...........! Not aware of any alternatives but would definitely be interested if there are any. I do know that the seat belt set up comes from the Citreon AX..if that helps.

Mines a complete pain and twists in the top runner all the time. Also could do with some shiny new top runners but don't intend changing like for like when it will only happen again.
Mine have 'Sample' written on them as in previous post.
'Poor sample' in my view.

mine are the same and i am now seriously wondering what alternatives there are i.e a three point harness.... anyone got a harness fitted and if so where how mauch etc etc.....

But you really shouldn't take this route unless you have some rollover protection.

The original belt reels are cr@p and the female end (podie not present) is too long. I got mine replaced by Quickfit Safety Belt Services.
Any colour you like and individually tailored to your car.

I'm not sure where I read it (possibly the Bible) I understand 3 point harnesses are not "road-legal" because they don't have one release point (like todler seats). So you have to keep both fitted. Can anyone verify this?

I like the sound of this. Do they better runners at the top (near your sholder)? It would be good to have some idea of cost if possible.

I kept the original runners as the problem was being caused by the reels. No idea on current cost as I had mine done about 9 years ago, fitted for about £100.

Why not chrome the runners if you want them shiney??

I had my seat belts replaced by QuickFitSBS and they did a great job. They have a wide range of colours - I had cream webbing fitted to match the interior, and it looks much better than the original black ...

One word of warning though - when they came to replace the anchor point at the bottom, the bolts sheared off and they then had to remove the seat to re-drill and tap the mountings.

This occurred on both sides, and resulted in a bill about three times the original estimate. Hard to avoid I guess, but might be worth noting if you are on a budget ...

As I suspected. It will be something to budget for next year. But since I intend to keep the car for sometime it will be worth it.

Got some belts from QuickFitSBS last autumn. Fitted in a few hours but had no trouble with bolts. The kit included new runners and shorter clip-ends (originals kept poking me in the hip!) Can't remember the exact price but V. reasonable - just over a ton I believe.
