In reality I've been grinding to a gradual halt for a long time. It was an extortionate quote for business insurance (compounded by extortionate business motor insurance) that has stopped me in my tracks. I live a very frugal lifestyle but the rules are perpetually depleting my hard earned resources. If I opt to undertake reasonably paid work, I've no choice but to either work for another man or to spend a lot of money simply for the privilege of working for myself. It's got me thinking - f*ck it, literally f*ck it completely.
How it was up until this point:
Get off the internet, especially this sad brained, middle aged, class obsessed internet forum. Go outside and meet people and do stuff. Get a hobby. How it was up until this point:
- Women, society and the law have made relationships infeasible - I've written that part of life off
- I strongly dislike my job - four years of study for nothing but an expensive certificate and a pat on the back
- I will never own a home worth owning even if I work my backside off - I have what is considered a 'good job'
- The state and rules ensure I will never be wealthy
- Driving has become an infuriating, horrible experience - I'm required to do a lot of driving for work
If that doesn't work see a doctor/therapist. Stop referring to women as "leeches" and get real.

I feel an almost inconceivable amount of injustice and I'm not prepared to enable such a system.
There's your problem, and the problem with society in general, that no one wants to accept responsibility for their own failings, and wants to blame someone or something. You need to look in the mirror and accept that what's happened to you is your fault. Only until you do that can you begin to put it right. A bit like accepting you have a drink or gambling issue. But once you've done it, it's quite liberating.
I like to use the following phrase....You only get one chance to f
k your life up, and I grabbed mine with both hands. I'm really happy these days
I'm not super wealthy but I'm comfortable. My job isn't the most exciting but it pays more than it probably should and I like the people I work with. I enjoy gaming, motorbikes, cars and other stuff to keep me entertained - none of them are really a hobby as such but they occupy my time. I enjoy reading and learning and researching all kinds of bizarre stuff because everything is interesting if you look into enough. I'm happily single and have a very tight group of close friends but very few casual friends.
Not wishing to blow my own trumpet too much but I'm smart. I'm really smart. I'm certainly smart enough to know that I could've done more with my life; could be in a better job, could have more cash in the bank, could have faster cars and bikes, could have a relationship and children. I could've achieved so much. There was a time when it was an issue for me and I started to believe that I'd let myself down but then I reflect on what I have, what I do, what I enjoy and who I enjoy it with and I realised that I'm far more than content; I'm genuinely happy. I'm the only one responsible for how my life has turned out and why would I want to blame myself for that when I can congratulate myself for it?
If you focus too much and what you haven't done and what you haven't got then you'll never be content, let alone happy.

Sounds like the OP has no particular commitments so my advice would be to save up a few £ a head off travelling for as long as you want too. Personally I'd probably get as far as New Zealand, buy a surfboard and never leave again. Get work picking fruit or whatever. Just enough for food, beer and surfing.
First, I would go to your doctors and speak to him about how you feel. You sound depressed more than anything.
Secondly, if you hate the job then quit and go in to something else.
Thirdly, every pot has a lid. You might be going after a
hole women. Try and learn to love yourself, value yourself, and when you go out don't be thinking "I need a woman to make my life happier". You are the only person who can make yourself happy. Once you do this the women will come to you.
Finally, "a house not worth owning". If you buy a house its yours. Its your castle. It doesn't matter if it's a 1 bed apartment or a 25 bedroom mansion. Its yours. Its your home. That's what should matter, not this bulls
t of having to buy a house with the hope of making £200,000 off it in 5 years time.

Seek professional help for depression and take stock of any positives you do have ie health etc (sorry i am no professional but my youngest son suffered from depression after leaving the army early into his career after being diagnosed with asthma)..
good luck

I just suspect the OP needs to change some or all parts of his life.
It's not easy to do so. I can think of several people whom I have known over the years who have done major changes to their lives be it changing jobs, relocating etc. Thing is they did it in reaction to circumstances, not proactively. Redundancies, relationship breakdowns, serious health scares.
