M5 Launch Event
Discussion
Hello all,
I'm hoping this doesn't break any rules, but I'm the Business Manager at Marshall BMW in Bournemouth and we are having the M5 roadshow this weekend, 10th and 11th November. We will have the new M5 here for people to see and the unveil will be an evening event tomorrow (Friday 10th) with it being here until Sunday morning. I know quite a few of my customers are members here but anyone is welcome to come along!
We are also being supplied a few other BMW M models, M2, M4 CP, X6M, M760li etc which can be test driven to experience the range.
DM me if you want any more information.
Cheers,
Chris CC

By "months ago" you mean one month, right?
Chris, when will demo drives of the F90 be available?
I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect it will be available in the lead up to the Official UK launch in late March/early April. There are at the moment only 3 in the UK, and the car we have is I suspect a pre-production model.

The whole idea with the roadshow we have been a part of is to show the car locally to people who might not have been able to see it at a motorshow. And is not all about the M5, we have been given 9 cars in total, 6 we can drive including an M2, X6M, M6 Coupe CP, M3 CP, M4 CP, and 2 for our showroom, a VERY bright Individual orange M3 Competition Package, and a lovely Individual Silver M760li.

Thanks for the invite Chris. I attended my local dealer group M5 event a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the afternoon.
It was a good opportunity for me to drive the M2 again as it had been over a year since I tested it on its release and reminded me just how great a car it is and the difference to the M Performance range.
The biggest draw for me was the chance to drive the M760Li xDrive. Beautiful place to be. Can imagine driving to Italy or the French Riviera in that! Although I admit to being a little disappointed in the performance driving experience and was hoping the V12 was more obvious.
Perhaps the dealers location and test route wasn't good enough to show off its capabilities.
It was also great to see the M5 and get a chance to sit in that too, shame it wasn't available to drive but as you point out for me personally it was an easier way to see it in the flesh than at one of the major motor shows.

No trouble at all, thought people might like to know it's on as the advertising from BMW has been a bit patchy! It's been touring throughout the UK to the main M Dealers, I believe speaking to the guys setting it up they are planning on doing a similar tour early next year to other dealers who didn't get the chance this time around. It was a good opportunity for me to drive the M2 again as it had been over a year since I tested it on its release and reminded me just how great a car it is and the difference to the M Performance range.

The M760li is an unbelievable machine, we've actually got our own demo and I've had a chance to have a go in that, so we have 3 here this weekend! It's such a power house and always surprises me with how fast and yet how luxurious it is! At idle it's so quiet inside it could almost be a hybrid so I see what you mean, but in Sport mode with the exhaust tune on and in the high rev range it sounds great! Worth a longer go to get a proper feel for it though...

Seems a little rude.
Really? The dealer is using a freebie on PH to encourage punters to the showroom to see the new M5. Except, all you'll be able to do is kick the tyres and that's about it. Excuse my cynicism, however I find that approach little rude.
Maybe it's my bad back making me grumpy today. Apologies if I've upset any little princesses.
