My lad wants the above for xmas. I've seen the "Thrustmaster T150 Force Feedback Wheel PS4" at reasonable price. is it any good? any other suggestions?

I've just come onto this forming to ask the same question so I won't start another thread but hope that others will add recommendations. My son (12) want one to play his F1 game but I'm struggling to understand what to mount it on as he plays whilst sitting on the sofa.

One of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wheel-Stand-Pro-Logitech-...

Fancy one setup myself but I just don’t play driving games enough to justify it.

I went with a playseat alcantara from box.com (cheapest I could find) and a Logitech G29 wheel, they had it on offer at currys for £219 with the gearbox (usually £50 more on its own)

it folds away nicely too.

I am looking at a playseat Alcantara, would you please be able to measure the height from the floor to the bottom cushion the bit you actually sit on. also does it come with fixings to attach the wheel and the pedals to the stand?

Thanks

From what I've read the 2-pedal set is not up to much. See if you can get the T150 with the t3pa pedals as a set. Even if you don't need the clutch.

I have these pedals with the t300rs on a playseat challenge. The only bad thing on the playseat is the Velcro strap to hold the pedals on. I replaced that with a metal piece that bolts on from underneath (wheelstand pro style)

Agreed with the comments above about the PlaySeat. It’s great but that Velcro strap is terrible.

The other point of failure is the pedal adjusters - they’re plastic and can fail meaning the pedals just move off the seat assembly.

Had mine for years and it’s great, even with the above issues.

G29 paired to it is basic but it works well. Force feedback is pretty good on it too.

Folded the arrangement measures 1m high, 40cm wide and 30cm deep.

Height from the floor to your ass is about 20-30cm.

You can adjust it using the retaining strap underneath

Actually that's a good point I keep meaning to drill my pedal stand so the adjusters screw right in to a hole rather than relying on some fairly flimsy plastic screws to clamp down onto metal bar

OP: T150 will probably do your lad fine. The alternative is the logitech G29.

From what I've read, Thrustmaster don't have a great reputation for reliability, the Logitech seems better from that perspective. However, the logitech uses a gear system to provide the force feedback, this is seen as "old tech" compared to the belt system on the thrustmasters. The Logitech is fine in use imho, so exactly how much difference there is I cannot say.

You can get the T150 with better pedals, its called a T150 pro.
Logitech is expensive at the moment, abut £212 n amazon, I got mine for about £150 I think and they did go as low at £99 for a very short time on the Currys website at one point.

Wheelstand Pro is a good bit of kit, I have one here that I will probably sell as I've moved to a playseat challenge which is more comfortable. I don't have an issue with the pedals moving, the combination of carpet, the foam around the bars and the strap seems to keep everything still.
