Hi guys,

Just a quick question. I’m after some menu samples. It seems near impossible to find anywhere that does Samples for menus and cafes. Anyone know of anywhere? I’m not sure if this is the correct place for it? All help is welcome.

Thanks

Do you mean:

Someone who will print some samples of your menu on different paper stock etc?

or

Someone who will design menus for you?

or

Someone who can give you some samples of other businesses menus?

or

??

I think the OP means samples of menu types, the sort a printer would provide.

My experience is you need to physically go to a local printer and look at what they have done to get the idea.

Well I’m after the materials, colours and different shape styles ideally? I’ve found a few menus which I like the look of. Also possibly sample templates of menus?

Thanks

Its going to depend a lot on your type of business, takeaway with cheap menus people keep or fine dining leather bound?

I ended up designing my own from scratch but I wanted a very specific design and I had the time and tools to do it myself.

Ring a few local printers and see what they have you can look at for ideas.

For material an interesting choice for my was Agfa Synaps, it feels like a waxed card but can be colour copied or lasered on to and its washable.

I’ll be designing mine from scratch too and have a rough idea of where things will be placed. Although I’d love to see some examples of perfectly executed menus.

Does the Agfa Synaps have a lot of price difference?

Thanks

our menus changed pretty much every few weeks so we'd have 30 odd menus run off at a time from a local printer. They used to charge about £1 for a double sided A4 menu on Agfa Synaps. In the end we started doing everything in it, table talkers etc

Our evening menus were different again, they were a 2 fold menu on card at about £1.50 a piece.

As for design, I'd look at what a major player in your market does and pinch their ideas in terms of dish priority and structure.

A well designed menu is a very powerful sales tool.
