Hello

I am looking for some advise. My Fiesta has a heavy knocking at idle, but no smoke and good MPG.

I took it to a diesel specialist, they said would be injecter seals and i left it with them to sort. I said they could replace cam belt for me also because had done 125k

3 days later it returned, the noise was worse, so i refused to pay for injecter seals but paid £250 for cam belt change. Now though i could smell fuel and see fuel on the drive. I took it back and they had it for another 3 days. Just picked it up again. This time its very noisy, i.e original knocking noise is very loud, chucking lots of smoke out, rattling and has very bad acceleration. One again i turned car around and took it back.

I am not happy and garage seems confused at what it could be, 1 of the 3 guys mentioned turbo before asking to be left with it again.

One clue to knocking is that when hole near front right of engine, (expecting air inlet or outlet) is covered, knocking noise went or did go before.

Help !

Find somebody competent and trustworthy to look at it. The fact they twice failed to fix the problem and twice sent the car back with such an obvious fault related to what they had done shows that they are neither.
