Travelling with biological drugs

I'm now self-injecting certolizumab pegol which has to be kept in the fridge. It's a biological drug (what exactly that means I'm not sure!). The nurse mentioned taking it on holiday I'd need a cool bag & ice pack and I'd have to declare it before getting on planes.

Anyone done it? Any advice or difficulties to be aware of?

I've been traveling with syringes and insulin for yrs. I used to carry a doctors letter and a copy of my prescription, never been asked for them but insulin is pretty common.

Take prescription or letter, carry in hand luggage.

Cool, I'm not too concerned but they said I should tell the desk when checking in. Or for short trips I could just schedule so I don't need to take any.
