Morning all

I've recently acquired an old PS2 to relive my youth. However, I have a 2016 Samsung TV which doesn't have the red/yellow/white ports on the back to connect.

Do I need a component adaptor to make connect? Any other suggestions as to how I can wire this up please?

Thanks in advance

The wife suggested that I rig up our old PS2 to the plasma for the kids to play on. It's only got one SCART which the Wii is plugged into and it's not easily accessible to swap around.

You can get SCART to HDMI converters but the quality seems to be a bit hit and miss. You'd also need a SCART cable for your PS2, one that does RGB will give a better picture to start with anyway.

Does your TV have a SCART socket? If it does then you can buy the RCA (component) to SCART socket for a few pennies.

However, if you don't and the only option is HDMI, then you will need a SCART/Component to HDMI converter. They cost a bit of money to be honest.

Another alternative, I think, is to buy one of those DVD HDMI upscaler jobbies. They should allow you to provide input to the player via SCART which then goes through it and to the TV via HDMI.
