How to get a stock exhaust fitted?
Discussion
My 986 was fitted with a sports exhaust by the previous owner and although it sounds great, it really causes an uncomfortable resonance in the cabin, so i want to get it back to a stock exhaust to start enjoying the car the way it was supposed to be when it left the factory.
Trouble is Porsche will charge a fortune to have it replaced and my local exhaust place won't fit something unless they supply it and they say they would also source from Porsche.
Is there another option?

1) Ebay, to buy a stock exhaust from someone who's upgraded.
2) Halfords, to buy some tools.
3) Swarfega. Start getting your hands dirty
4) Sell old exhaust on ebay. That will probably pay for the new exhaust & the tools too.
Problem is i need someone to do it. The existing one is rusted to hell and i don't want to damage anything trying to drill the manifold bolts out.2) Halfords, to buy some tools.

Your manifolds won't be the source of resonance, that'll be caused by the silencer. So you won't need to change the manifolds unless you really want to.
That was my first thought, then I wasn't sure if the OP meant the bolts between the manifold & the rest of the exhaust.OP - as above, you probably don't need to remove the manifolds. Should be an easy job.
