Evening all.

So a lot of people have sidelines, fingers in pies, small businesses that we've started, investments etc.
Just wondering what everyone does to increase their income, aside from their main job?

My main job pays okay, and is only 4 nights a week, so I spend 1 day a week working on a farm.
It's something I've never experienced before, and I do it mainly for what I can learn, rather than earn.
Having said that, it pays fuel money for the rest of the weeks work!

Thanks, Stuart.

I'm a landlord and look after my own portfolio but I can't stand having downtime so in-between projects I will do the odd job here and there for people in my village, perhaps the odd bathroom refit or bit of landscaping and likewise not for the money really just to help people out.

I used to work 2 jobs in the late 80s and through the 90s, I was in the Territorial Army and used to do as many weekends and weeks training per year as I could fit in. I could earn a few grand a year more, but just had a few evenings per week free time. In the reserve forces you can learn a lot of useful skills and get paid for it.

You can also practise self development, train yourself in the skills you need to get a better paid job. I also did that in the 90s and eventually 10 years later was much better off (went from £20k a year jobs to £50K, then onto £100K+ by mid 2000's)

You either gain skills that enable you to charge more for your time or find a role where you detach your earnings from time spent.

Started as a hobby 30+ years ago, now my main source of income as I'm semi-retired, employed 2 days a week.
I repair clocks. The money isn't great, but I enjoy it.

I started just working on clocks for myself, family and friends. Expanded to proper customers 20 years ago, free advert in yellow pages.
A few years ago I took on work from a local jeweller. Now taking work from an antique shop and a specialist clock seller too.
As the older repair guys in the area retire or die off I'm getting more work each year. With a bit of advertising I could probably go full time.

I post on a Bitcoin forum. In your signature you can get paid to advertise Bitcoin businesses by inserting clickable code. I have a couple of aged accounts. At the moment writing 240 posts a month is paying me £1000 in Bitcoin. V strange.

Try to tap my kid. But he says he wants to see signs of more responsibility before he'll take the risk. "We'll see when you're older...." and similar crap. smile

I had a crazy daydream of doing just that. Good to know it works out for you at least smile

Interesting thread, as I'm wondering what I could do to swell the coffers where my current role which I dont want to give up, is already paying the maximum it can do.

I got into some TV and film work (building specific types of set) about 4-5 years ago. Totally at random really after doing some semi related work with my main business and being asked to do more and then my name getting passed around between production companies. Its evolved a bit now too. Its good fun but I only take the work when my normal work is quiet. Its also very long hours and a lot of travelling.

I play guitar in a band which gigs 1 or 2 times a month. If it's an agency booking its worth about £250 to me. Less for pubs and clubs of course, but at least I can have a drink and misbehave at those smile

Pay depends on the seniority of your account and the people running them are hyper vigilant about Google translate stposters joining them so post quality needs to be good.

Overview here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

With a brand new account you could rank it up in a few weeks and months to something that pays well.

I had an account there way back & have just revived it. I remember going there first when I got wind of Bitcoin. Mainly because it was where Satoshi posted iirc.

Not at all, but it really is mind blowing how much utter crap is posted there now. Much of it is unreadable. It's understandable as being on some of those campaigns pays way, way better than most highly qualified jobs outside the first world.

There's loads of bots attempting to farm accounts.

The campaigns can come and go pretty rapidly and obviously they're only there while they make money for who's funding it, but I've managed to stay in whatever's on offer for several years now. If I add all the earnings up it's far into the tens of thousands of pounds now with the current Bitcoin price.

Do your duty and up that content quality then. The non zombies are definitely up for proper discussions. Much of it takes place away from the main sections. Campaigns pick and choose which sections they pay for so that needs to kept in mind.
