I'll keep this brief. My girlfriend and I are saving for a house and so I'm not allowed to buy nice cars as we have one between us. I do however need my own and my current vehicle is going to be sold ASAP as its upkeep is ridiculous for what it is.

So, my question: is it possible to get a classic or (and I use this term loosely) a future classic for under £2k? I'm obviously drawn to the MX5, I've been on PH for over 10 years after all. However, I'd love some other suggestions. Requirements:

Under £2k (and not scraping under £2k by buying a horrendous example)
Enjoyable to drive
Not horrendously expensive for parts, repairs and running costs.

Thanks! thumbup

You might struggle to get a 'real' classic that's nice to drive for £2k but for that money I'd be tempted to find a nice standard Mk2 MR2 and just keep it nice. It'll only go up in value and be fun to drive.

I'd be tempted by a small warm hatch from the 90s, something like a Saxo VTS or a Puma.
