Is it always true that Carwow inevitably beats the showroom price, Say C Ldn dealer, German car, £20k-£30k price range

Always? No.

Generally? Yes.

Simple, bigger dealers, offer more, sell more cars at lower price to generate more sales.

They want the sale so cut the price more?

Carwow wouldn’t beat it if you just went to all the other dealers in person, but that would just be silly,

It might do as the dealers don't usually give direct customers as a low a price as they do if they come through CarWow. Stupid thing is the dealer then has to pay CarWow £400 commission

I used carwow to get a decent deal on new Aygo for my wife, best price was from our local Toyota dealers and £3.5k off list price and £500 less than the next cheapest..

I am using their service again for my new car...

... on a sale this might otherwise not have had. Carwow puts a bit more power back into the hands of the buyer, in my opinion, and therefore is a good thing. And it takes all the shady negotiating out of the picture too. smile

Feel a bit stuffed as a walk in customer.
Carwow refers more custies to Dealers.
Dealers offer better prices to Carwow.
Well no point walking in to the showroom is there?

I bought a Tiguan using it and got the best price from a dealer 4hrs drive away. No way am I doing that.

I won't use our nearest VW dealer but the next one (30 mins away) quoted, but slightly higher.

All the CarWow quotes were higher than DriveTheDeal but they wouldn't connect me to "their" dealer unless I agreed to wait the factory lead-time of 12 weeks. That was no good, I needed the car in 2-4 weeks. Again I also didn't want to buy from a random distant dealer.

So I visited the 30mins away dealer, found a car that was en-route from the factory and negotiated a price I was happy with. I didn't quite get the DtD price, but was close enough.
