So I was on a typical forum page... and looked up and saw that Adblocker was blocking [b]47[b/] adverts.

I'd imagine that without it, PH would be pretty much unusable. Bear this in mind chaps.

Log out, disable your adblocker and you should get a very clear idea of how bad it can be

The main culprit now is First Direct, offering some splendidly mis-targeted advertising by offering me a mortgage.

Its not the amount of ads, but the massive size of them.

Particularly some local newspaper sites, that have the articles completely surrounded by them with all the animations and all that st.

What is the point of a little X in the corner of an advert to make it go away, when it reappears on the next page? banghead

Perhaps the PHers should get a cut of the advertising revenue? After all we have to put up with the annoyance of it.

You should check the number of cookies (in particular tracking ones) being fed / blocked on here as well.

I'm sure a poster on a thread earlier this year (or maybe last) said his adblocker was blocking something like 100+ cookies at one point.

As a matter of interest has anyone here looked at an advert, thought 'Wow that's just what I wanted!' and gone and bought it?

Has anyone on here read a post and thought 'Wow, that is really informative'?

I don’t normally see ads as I run a PI-Hole but I’ve allowed ads from Pistonheads as a long standing member but it is getting too invasive now.

For all other sites I run PI-Hole and never see a single ad.

I'm using Edge on a new Windows 10 laptop and I only see four. I do find it odd that it repeats the banner ad at the top of the page twice.

Just opened the page in IE 11 and it's the same.
