Was reading a thread on the obscene amounts spent by fktards on 'modern art' and, in my tangential way, found the UK national debt amounted to £53 per UK taxpayer.
Now if you were to set a date for this, say 4th of July or so to give some the chance to save then I would happily fork out £60 to get us back in the black, anyone else in?

It's £53,000 not £53. I suspect if it was just £53 a simple income tax increase would wipe out the debt easily.

Seriously, why would you think it was only £53 a person?

By the time you have written a check for £53 the national debt would have gone up by over £100k. (Add another 10 minutes to find an envelope)

Scary st. Glad I do not live there!
