My partner has Alzheimer’s and is home all day in front of the tv, mostly. She wants to watch Netflix and NowTV movies, but the remote on our Samsung tv totally confuses her, so she is stuck watching itv and itc encore and other junk. I find the Samsung remote quite confusing myself to be honest

We have a tiny lounge, so are looking for a user-friendly 40’’ 4k tv.

Any suggestions would be massively appreciated, thanks

Why change the TV? Why not just change the remote? Plenty of universal remotes out there that are very simple and you can programme a button direct for each service

MIL had this problem when she developed early onset dementia.
She got conned into a Sky subscription which we eventually cancelled as she just couldn't grasp the concept of satellite and terrestrial TV.
(Big problem was phone selling and doorstep selling conning her into 'stuff' when we weren't there)

At home we have a Harmony universal remote and that can be programmed with channel icons on the LCD screen.
This might work.
Alternatively, we also have a Roku box which we use with the Harmony remote. The supplied remote is quite simple however with few buttons and has a dedicated Netflix button.
If she is still capable of navigating a screen with the remote, this would be an easy set-up to install for her and quite difficult for her to get lost with.

You could get a Harmony Hub and set up a tablet as a remote.

If you do want to change the tv, Panasonic have a dedicated Netflix button that goes direct to the App, or an Apps button that brings up all the catchup apps.

Thanks all. Will look up universal remotes and the harmony and the Panasonic. Makes sense to try the remote first. I was looking for a larger tv anyway but it’s not a final decision

We have basic sky but think the movie channel is a waste of money, so want to stick with Netflix and Now tv.

Many thanks
