Had my 2012 a6 3.0 tdi for a few years now done 112,000 and unfortunately the multitonic unit, clutches and dual mass fly wheel have failed.

Fortunately I had a warranty so it’s all been replaced, something like £8k work.

I was plannning on keeping it until 150k as I really like the car, it’s totally pristine and has every extra.

So now in a dilemma of either selling before anything else goes wrong or just keeping ? Assuming all the bad / expensive bits have been fixed.

Anything else that goes wrong with these at this sort of milage ?

Any views ?

Engine is very touch and as a car overall the quality is first rate. Without spending significantly more money you won't buy something as nice.

At that sort of age mileage I guess it's normal to start expecting some wear items but they too are much cheaper than a whole new car.

I’m happy for normal consumables.

Really like the car, only car I have kept for years and I really don’t know what I would replace it with .. which is another problem. Wouldn’t have another one after theses issues.

It is only after someone had a similar issue with the same car on here that I took the warranty out !!

Would have to add at least another 20k to get back to a year old version of mine I suspect. And in every respect apart from the box etc it’s not had a single fault in 90k

Thanks

Off topic, but who was the warranty with?
Nice to hear a story of someone receiving payment!

It is warranty direct, so far I can’t fault them
