Porsche 924 Turbo s2
Discussion
I am thinking about buying Porsche 924 Turbo - version s2 (1982). It has 94,000 mileage, aprox. 5 previous owners, regulary servised (documents goes back to 90s - servised in Porsche), original red metalic paint (almost no scratches), there are even original stickers in engine area. There is no visible rust, newly replaced wirings and tires.
The interior is in a bad shape - it would require new covers on almost everything (or maybe even new front seats).
The price is 10,000$. Car has valid MOT.
Should I buy this car, is it a good price? It is not intended for daily driving, just for fun. I also dont want it to be money pit.

So series 2 is the best, good start, quite a few useful upgrades.
I used to race on of these in porsche challenge in the early 90,s. Check the exhaust manifold studs and nuts very carefully, listen for any exhaust manifold leaks, they are very fragile and an engine out job to fix properly. The KKK turbo is also very fragile as with no intercooler it gets very hot. Any evidence of a rebuild will be handy. Get a test drive and accelerate hard in first gear, you are checking that it doesn't jump out of gear, if it does it needs a new main shaft and they are as rare as a unicorn horn. First gear synchro is very fragile as it is easy to hit first instead of third when downshifting from 4th gear. The rear spoiler is also hard to get and a bit iffy at this age. Apart from this they are ace and very under rated. Enjoy
