BMW 3.0d 2012 M-sport

Can anyone share any known issues on one of these. I may be committing to buying one today. I thought I’d avoid the 2.0L diesel due to the well documented chocolate timing chain woes. Or am I mad even thinking of buying another diesel as they will be taxed off the road. The car is a low mileage one in as new condition and too good to ignore!! Any thoughts greatly appreciated. It’s an X3 by the way!!
