Just in case this is of any interest.

Not wanting the spoil the beautiful interior - I was reluctant to install an ipaq cradle for my sat nav.

This location fits the ipaq perfectly (it just rests in the gap), power is easy to tap from fag lighter and with some trick screen orientation software I can turn the screen to landscape.

I presume by the picture, that you have a bluetooth based device that links to your GPS receiver.

Has anyone had any experience with the 'globalsat' solution that plugs directly into the SD card slot?

My apprehension is that I am then dependant on the internal memory of the device (64mb) for the maps and software.

I see you copied my head-unit idea Mr Moss!

Ipaq looks good - I have one and was thinking of getting bluetooth GPRs too, although I too have got my Origin B2 there at the moment.... I even made a fancy perspex bracket to holt it with too...!!

haha - thought you might notice that certainly did. It was made for the T350 / Tamora, matches perfectly and sounds pretty good too.

you can pick up pioneer Avic x1 head units for around 1200 sheets. They have a screen which comes out, ok you need to put the car in 2nd gear but once out it's full touch-screen, graphic sat nav with more options than I'll probably ever get to find out about.

Yeah I know, pics, I don't know how to do that yet!

Some ph'ers have already taken pics of one installed.
