Parking in Paris

Anyone have any idea how or where I could park my Sagaris in Paris for a few weeks?

I'm currently working out here and would rather the car was nearby, for the great roads (and Nurburgring can't be more than 3hrs away) and also to put a few miles on it.

Sorry to sound vague, but there is a huge underground patrolled car park at the end of the champs-elysee (sorry about the spelling) It is partly for residents and partly for medium term hire. I guess a google on paris parking or parking champs-elysee might help (and show up the proper spelling)

My experience of working in Aulnay-Sous-Bois, staying in Port de Bagnolet and driving between the two (even in a hire car), would suggest to me that it would be unwise to take your Sagaris and even unwiser to leave it parked anywhere. Once you've seen the condition of cars in Paris, and the way they are driven and parked, I'd be *most* reluctant to do it, were it mine. Virtually every car you see in Paris has minor damage.

I think the minor damage argument would be equally true of London. I just need a secure parking place for it as I'd only drive out of the city late at night or early in the morning to scare the little french children!

Thanks for your help, I'm working at the Champs Elysee so that could be perfect. I just have to check all the ramp angles for clearance - nb - there is virtually none on a Sagaris!

IIRC Paris has a knock for knock things built into law for any incident inside the Peripherique. Might be fine to driv einto Paris, and park in a secure compund, with armed guards, then out to the ring, but might also be better to find a nice place just outside Paris, and stash it there?

If you'll be at Champs Elysées, There is plenty park around, try the "Vinci"'s parks (is't a group with lot of park in Paris) Site here Click on "P", "75" and "8", some of them lend you a bycicle when you park your car and they are secure with video and guards, you can find a single place without other car close you. the "8 arrondissement" is full of beautiful/expensive cars...don't panic (exept they never saw a TVR, a car so beautiful as this ONE !!!)

When i used to go to paris, i parked my tuscan at place madelaine just near place de la concorde. Most of the parkings are guarded, if it does makes a difference i dont know?!?

I would be more worried about leaving it for longer periods of time by itself!

Good luck. I used to live in Paris (in my pre TVR days). Agree with the other advice, to make sure that it is in a secure underground car park. Also make sure that you are aware of any local driving quirks - for instance 'priorite a droit' which is when the person joining the roundabout has priority over the person already on the roundabout. Also make sure you know where the local petrol station is - the ones in town are pretty well hidden.

Never ever be tempted to park on the roadside in Paris, even temporarily - I have experienced Parisien parking which involves making space by 'nudging' the other cars forward and backwards to make a space big enough for your own car.

Oh and a wonderful line for all those fawning young French ladies "Baisse ta cullotte, c'est moi qui pilote!"

Medium term rent on underground parking here is pretty cheap. Vinci were doing a deal where you got 6 months use of the carpark for the price of 3 months ... works out at a couple of Euros per day which is seriously cheap. My Chim is stashed just south of Place de la Bastille. The car parks are clean, well lit and they even pipe crap music through them. 24/7 access, some have car wash and petrol stations inside, plus ... umbrella rental.

Under no circumstances park on the street. Even the g/f has started playing the "spot the undamaged car" game. I reckon three quarters of the cars here have pretty obvious signs of damage.
