I hate to say this but
Discussion
I hate the thought of this but after 3 years of much fun the S may well be up for sale soon.
Other projects, limited funds and time mean that we are likely to part soon.
There are a couple of small jobs to do but I've done a fair bit including a complete engine rebuild and gas flowing last year (bill for £850), new stainless sports exhaust, new carpets, new rear lights, new flush side repeaters, new TP and loom, new idle control valve, new FSE power boost valve, new 17" alloys and tyres, new genuine (not recon) air flow meter, new bosch fuel pump, new Headlight trims, new Magnecor 8mm race spec leads.
Thatcham Cat 2 (IIRC) coded key immobiliser, huge history file & original owners handbooks, MOT Feb 2006, Taxed to April 2006.
There's a small weep from the water pump but I have a brand new genuine one to supply with the car.
I have loads of history prior to my ownership including new shockers and the original handbooks too.
What is the consensus on a reasonable price?
Forgot to say, also includes a nice TVR reg No currently advertised by regtransfers for £1800 on their website.

But...but...but...it was only 5 minutes ago you were thinking of pearlescent paint and this and that and all sorts
geez Kevin, did you used to be indecisive but now are not so sure ???
Best of luck with whatever you choose to do though mate. I'm sure if the car is sold the buyer will be well after happy all the mods you've done.
Not a clue on price - seem to recall you having up for 5.5k before. Would have thought more than that, especially with summer approaching.

£5K!!!! That's definitely too cheap for your car. What's the mileage??
£5750 at least!! That car looks great.
Cheers Chris, I'll never get back what I've spent but I'd like to see him go to a good home.
Mileage is about 110k now but only a few hundred miles since the engine rebuild and pretty much everything has been replaced over the last 3 years or so.
ITS ALL THOSE HOLIDAYS!!!
...And a lovely house.
Sorry to hear your present train of thought Kevin...
Change it directly!
If Chris does plan to come over in a couple of weeks, might I make up a threesome?
Sell the Beemer and USE the S! Thats what I say.
Its got to be £5750 if I am going to make anything when I sell mine!

Nooooo.....
What a shame, we never got to meet. If you do meet up with Chris and Tim, let me know. You'll never be able to discuss swirl pots with any authority ever again if you get rid of it. Great looking car Kevin, worth more than 5 big ones!

Blimey, 4 e-mails and I haven't even posted a classified!
I may be able to hang on to him by making other cuts, there are other factors that will decide whether or not I have to sell the S and the most significant being that my job is not too secure at the moment, not only mine as my wife works for the same company who are looking to make radical savings and probably by lowering headcount by a very significant number
Sorry, it wasn't my intention to mislead anyone. I just wanted to get an idea on the consensus for a value on my S.
I'd like nothing more than to keep and enjoy the S and continue bringing him up into a pristine condition.
Just goes to show what a tightrope we all walk in life if we are dependent on an income.
I apologise for not answering the interested people but I hope you all see this.

Thanks Tim, I hope so too but it's too early to tell, the company are looking for savings of over £4 billion this year and that's a lot! Job losses will be made we have been told, just waiting to hear who and when now but could be a few weeks before we know.
I've been out in the S lots recently more than in the last 6 months I should think!
I'm making the most of him now
BTW, I fitted those silencers you put me on to and they are pretty good, still loud but no longer completely bonkers!
