Strange Employee...

It's been a bit quiet in the office this afternoon.

So I've just suggested that one of the receptionists calls it a day and leaves an hour early.

To my surprise she declined, stating that she'd rather be here that go home....

Weird.

A while back when we had alot of snow on the ground they said it would be Ok to leave early at my place-I didn't bother because I had things to do.

No, not really. My wife has decided that as all her friends have a divorce, so she needs one too. The atmosphere is to say the least a little poisonous, and I have tried to be out at clients sites as much as possible...

OK... how odd!!

Only feasible reason I can think of is maybe she's a temp? Having just come out of temp-dom, I can tell you that every hour counts... I even did over time...

I regulary used to get offered the chance to go home early, they would dock my wages so I only took the offer up once or twice

Not everyone likes to leave early. Im my own boss, would LOVE to drive the cerb during daylight hours, I can leave for a 30 minute drive anytime but choose not to, and ultimately feel better about doing what work needs to be done. If I dont take care of my clients first, who will take care of me.

For employees... whats not done today, must be done tomorrow. Given the choice, I would radio up to the mother ship, and ask to be deposited on a planet in which work didnt come first

To be honest, if I "got the chance" to leave at 5.00pm (half an hour before before the daily finishing time as stated on my contract, I wouldn't bother.

I only live 18 miles away from the office, but if I leave at 5pm, it can be 6.15-6.30pm before I get home.

If I leave at 6.00pm, I get home at 6.30pm.

Damn congestion!

Having said that, I generally don't leave til 6.30ish anyway....

Our guys on the nightshift were distraught at changing to days....they'd have to see more of the wife!!!

Perhaps she was unduly concerned she'd have been in breach of contractual terms relating to her hours of work!

Personally, I would have gone home and cracked open a bottle of fine red Shiraz...

I remember the days when I used to dread going home, no one ever understood why.

One of the clerks is even stranger.

She came to me a few weeks ago asking if she could donate her unused holiday entitlement to one of the other girls.....

How could I possibly refuse a request like that?

I even took a couple of hours out of work to give them a lift to the airport when they decided to go away together.

Good employees.

Worth their weight in whizz.
