Recessed plastic screw, plenum side, airflow meter

On Rover V8 cars.

Anyone know what it does ?

Anything ?....nothing ?....in relation to anything else ?...eg for instance the one adjacent to the throttle plate.

No guesses please.

Ideal Q for people like Jools or Pete Humphries who have probably been there...seen it...done it.

Sorry Wedg1e but I see a question mark there @ the end...perhaps it means u r not sure ?

OK...so if true...does the ECU not manage the mixture @ idle ?

No, I'm sure. Unless your AFM has more screws than mine, it'll be the idle mixture adjustment.

Edit: sorry, hadn't finished. The ECU has no way of knowing what the mixture is (although some Rangey versions had Lambda sensors fitted) so no, it plays no part.

Ah....perhaps I should have said....this is on my V8Sc with cats and lambda sensors.

Sounds like you may be talking about the base idle adjustment screw Is it recessed ?
