Hi. I've recently relocated to Pembroke and my daily commute means I brave the M4 twice daily.

I've obviously been paying attention to the average speed cameras. But today I had a lapse, and was passed what I thought was the start of the average speed zone.

Can someone tell me when the eastbound specs cameras start?

I noticed that there are some yellow cameras mounted on the hard shoulder just as you enter the 50 zone, passing under another carriageway, but all my camera detection apps like tomtom and waze seem to show the first camera further down passed where the onslip road merges.

I was doing about 60 when I realised, it was well before the on slip. Where the gantry cameras are.

Anyone know for certain where the specs start?

They start just before the first fly over after coming down the long straight before the slip road on the left merges

Hmmm. Are they overhead on a gantry or mounted on a post from the hard shoulder? As I can't picture it

Sorry for the late reply, the second picture is of the first camera, the first picture is of the second camera, I believe the speed is calculated between the two

I think I'm right in saying though that cameras can be paired differently? Ie 1 with 3 and 2 with 4?

Have to wait it out I suppose.
