Couldn't see another tread for it and some new papers are claiming we're going to spend about £8bn today on black friday so thought i'd see if anyone has bought anything?

I bought an Amazon Echo Dot.

Just some car detailing stuff from Ultimate finish, they have 10% off everything using a code.

I don't buy into most BF deals, if you look at most of the products, they're just at their normal price from the other month!

Nothing! Everything I like is too expensive regardless to buy just because it's Black Friday.

I had a voucher for John Lewis, but came out empty handed.

I have been looking for a TV for a while, and this was on my short list, so when it was reduced further went for it:

A baby monitor and an ISOFIX car seat base. 20% off the base and around 45% off the baby monitor - both items we had been looking to purchase and so was aware of the "true" cost of the item not the "advertised sale amount"

Will keep my eyes peeled for other deals that interest me but that's basically me done for things I actually needed!

Nothing.

£0.01 off a OnePlus 5T wasn't enough to swing it for me.

I'd agree. I had a look on somewhere (Amazon, eBuyer, one of those) for an SSD. Looked down the "Black Friday specials" list, found one I hadn't heard of, ~£72 for 240Gb, clicked on it. When I opened it, there's a helpful comparison table with three similar products, one of which was Samsung at slightly less money, another was Crucial at 99p more and ~15Gb larger. So I'm not convinced the "special" is all that special. And in the specials list, they show "Crucial SSDs, from £205 to £399". No mention of the one I'm seeing at £73.

But that is like any sale?

Those who are impulsive/clueless will be subsidising the actual handful of deals so the retailer makes a profit overall.

Tried to get a dairy milk bar out of the work vending machine but it's out of order! Devastated.
