Last few months I've noticed a significant increase in my ability to just randomly drop/spill/knock over/trip over stuff. Make a cup of tea? I'll spill the milk and sugar, and drop the top off the milk bottle. Pick up a hammer and nail? I'll drop one or the other. Leave something quite large and noticeable on the floor? Ill trip over it.

The latter is compounded by my total lack of observation. Something can be right in front of me, as obvious as a bulldog's bks, and I'll just not see it. It's almost like a form of blindness. TV remote? It may as well be hidden by a cloaking device

And then there's the forgetfulness. Two doctors appointments missed last week, even though i'd noted them down on my phone calendar and written them in huge red letters on my whiteboard and even though my GF reminded me 30 mins beforehand. I usually find myself standing in random bits of the house not knowing what I'm doing there. I'll be sitting in my office, remind myself that something important needs to be done in the kitchen (get something out of the freezer to defrost for dinner) and by the time I've got halfway down the stairs I'll have completely forgotten and go off and do something completely random in the garden

I'm 44. Anyone else get this st?

No. And I'm older that you. I don't think you can consider that stuff normal until you are in your seventies. Or four pints down.

Get the GF to take you to the doctors. yes

See your GP. It's obviousy not normal behaviour and needs to be investigated as soon as possible.

None of it really worries me, other than the above.

As said, get the GF to take you to the docs, please.

Could be vitamin deficiency. I was vitamin D deficient and thought i was loosing my mind! My mum had a sodium deficiency and started behaving very erratically.

Get checked by docs properly.

I had this for a moment (maybe a week), normally being the complete opposite. I put it down to not getting enough sleep and being too "involved" in supposed important things to give a st about everything else. Just reset my thinking and got back into being more aware of what was going on rather than plodding along in automatic mode (I think neuroscience calls this default mode, which I think is awful as this sounds like it's normalising it, IYSWIM).

Edit: I'm not saying don't see a doc if only to make sure all is fine.
