RIP Susie.
You have my utmost sympathy.Hows the other one coping?
Having to ask as I have 2 female Staffie's that we've had for 7 yrs and when one had to spend 2 nights at the vets after surgery her sister was the most distressed I had ever seen a dog.
I have to say I dread the day I lose one of them.

Sophie keeps looking for Susie and when she picks up a scent of Susie in the garden her tail goes into over drive.Having to ask as I have 2 female Staffie's that we've had for 7 yrs and when one had to spend 2 nights at the vets after surgery her sister was the most distressed I had ever seen a dog.

I'm sorry mate. I hope that Sophie is ok in long term. We have a two retrievers too, older is almost 6 years. Hard to explain by words how much they mean to me and my wife.
Sorry for your loss! Moi and Mrs Redback911 did a collective "oh noes" when we read the initial post. Cannot imagine the pain of having to make the PTS choice, but I am sure it was the right decision. Hope I could do the same.
As others have mentioned, it's a terrible loss but glad you had fifteen amazing years together. Sending extra hugs/cuddles to Sophie.

I had to make this decision today, my lovely Greyhound Eddie had developed some nasty Neuro symptoms, he was throwing his front leg out when he walked, he had no strength in his back end at all, he was starting to seem confused and he lost 3kg in a week. The vet didnt know what was happening so tried him on Antibiotics and steroids which helped, but as soon as he finished the steroids he deteriorated massively, the vet didnt hold out any hope for him so we had to make the decision.
I still feel terrible about it but I know he wasnt going to recover and I didnt want him to suffer.
