A specialist indie will probably be around two thirds the cost. Main issue is whether you want to keep the Mobilo assistance cover going or not.
You could just renew the plan, of course. Personally, I'm not a fan as I think it's caused the dealer prices to be high so the plan looks like reasonable value. But if it suits you to use a dealer then you might as well renew. There's £150 off on a BlackFriday deal.

The price will be no different because it is out of warranty. Is it due an A or B service?
Either way it will be cheaper at a good indy. My last B service on my E class at an indy was £230 ish which also included a pollen filter and air filter. At my Merc dealer that would have been about £350 ish at least.

Oil, Fuel and air filters included. ATF obviously not and neither is brake fluid. If it hasn't had its ATF changed that ought to be done - circa £300.

Fair enough - bearing in mind the cost of the filters (the diesel filter is quite dear as it has a water sensor built in) that seems very cheap. Perhaps it's a loss-leader for them and they'll lose out on some cars.Having said that one of the benefits of opting out of my company car was that I wouldn't have to go to Kwik Fit any more for tyres. No way would I let them service my car.
Indeed one of the MB forum members used them for an oil change and they sucked the ATF out (the oil, and ATF tubes are either side of the engine). They knew what they'd done, but didn't tell him - it only became apparent when the car wouldn't move.
I live in France and checked out the cost of a major service on line. The filters alone were damned expensive. A fuel filter was £100, the air filter £45, the pollen filter £50, and on it went. Labour, VAT, the lot came to £1,000. I went on line and looked at the same Bosch parts from an independent company, went to my local garage and paid £400 for the service, all filters,oil, etc. included. If the brother in law had not been so busy we could have halved the price again including of course resetting the service interval. If you are out of warranty I wouldn't go near a dealership frankly. Even the aircon recharge is 50% dearer than Midas.

Not really, as 35 is the standard price (I was offered this a few weeks back), the 150 discount takes it down to 20’s if you pay monthly (2 year plan). You also retain eligibility for goodwill in years 4 and 5 if you keep it main dealer serviced, his car is in that window. Everyone will put a different value to that insurance. My MB Indy is cheaper than main dealer service plans but definitely not half price. The other benefit is the MOT cover whereby if it fails from a long list of eligible items it’s FOC fix, I think that is Sytner specific however.For a car out of warranty it's better to find a good indy at half that price.

its something like 27 a month including vat. remember up to 5 years old you retain eligibility for goodwill if you service at the MD, its an optional insurance essentially. servicing every 2 years is unlikely to result in the car blowing up, depends how particular you are with maintenance at the end of the day. if you are committed to staying indy i dont think its worth saving a few quid to chuck an oil and filter on only in the non service year, especially on a premium car.There is also some confusion as to whether the prices being quoted include VAT.

Now I am down to 5k a year there is little point in maintaining the Mercedes history when there is a very well respected indy near me. It's still serviced as per Mercedes recommend service schedules but every 2 years or 10k miles now, before it was every 17k miles and every 2 months or so.
Horses for courses I suppose but a Mercedes plan doesn't make financial sense for me.
