Sad situation to see this in such a state.

This is when Caterham F1 was still at the complex.

Cost cutting was the reason many arrived in F1 but was it not Ferrari who objected which was finally accepted and basically killed off these teams?

Not 100% sure if this is correct but if anyone knows the facts.

None of the big teams wanted the cost cutting. That's why they were the big teams.

Not sure what your point is. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of similarly unused buildings all over the Country.

As it happens, Caterham's original site wasn't empty for long and is home to a successful aircraft seat manufacturer now.

I guess it is not so much sad but a waste of a top notch technology centre.

I'm not sure who owns it now? i'm sure that they probably aren't happy that it's getting in that state!

Ha. I'm quite pleased about that. I bet "Leafield Holdings Ltd" thought they were going to make a killing there. I'm sure the council will capitulate eventually, as these housing plans always get approval in the end, but it's nice to see some resistance for a while.
