The day I brought it home I took a pic of my then 7 year old youngest son stood in front of it.

He's 17 now.

I've added many cars to the fleet since then, many much more exotic, but I still love my M3

Excellent long term ownership there. The change in your son really highlights the passage of time in those pics. I really must take some similar shots of my boys in the M3.

Funnily enough the M3 is one of only 2 cars I've got that's close to suitable for teaching him to drive.

But no, insurance is a none starter. Bought him a new Aygo Xpress like this...

Very cool. How many miles are you up to?

Prefer how your house was decorated 10 years ago, matched the car better! ; )

56000. Don't drive it as much these days as I have 15 cars now. It's a manual though so a definite keeper.

Don't think we'll see any European, manual and naturally aspirated V8 cars being manufactured ever again.

That's the small garage attached to the house. It's a triple with 2 lifts in so 5 cars in there. The big garage is detached and has 4 bays with four lifts in, 8 cars, plus a games room and gym. The Mercs live outside.

I spent 25 years in snotters, bought the software company I worked for in 2007 with a couple of other guys when there were 6 staff, bought the M3 in 2008, cracked on till we had 140 staff and after we sold the company in 2014 I went f*cking mental, built the big garage and bought all the cars between May 14 and March 17.

Keep expecting Jeremy Beadle to pop up.

Self indulgent and I apologise in advance but sod it, here's some pics. I bought the M3 a year after we bought the company and ordered the 458 Spider the morning after we sold the company so they're both very important to me.

Awesome collection! Kudos to your hard work.

Love the M3.. I'm in the market for a 8-10yr old car at them moment.. White is a colour i'd love to own but as i keep mine on the road in London i'm worried about it sticking out too much. Probably irrational but hey ho, i'm paranoid!

Thanks guys, really appreciate the positive comments.

Owning the Model A though does remind you that they're just things. It's 88 years old, I've barely 'owned' it. In fact I don't really own it, I'm just looking after it for a bit of it's journey. Once you realise that, you realise things are just 'things' and it's what you do with them and with whom that matters.

That's why I can't be doing with people who buy a supercar and somehow think it makes them super. It's just a thing.

Go for it. Don't let what other people might think or do, or indeed what they do do and do (phew, is that good English) dictate your choice mate.
