Just picked up a pre-facelift C6 S6 and I have an odd issue...

When I push forward the stalk for high beam and someone comes towards me, I pull it back to the middle but the beam stays high. I have to pull it back again (like i'm flashing) to knock it back to dipped.

I thought it might have been some kind of beam assist thing that doesn't dazzle people but when i've pulled the stalk back to the middle and it's still on, i see no change in the beam pattern and people flash me.

Not got the manual for the car yet and can't find anything about this online - any ideas?

Faulty stalk or sticking relay.

But if it didn't recognise the middle (normal) position, surely it would stick on when I flash?

Switch is sticking internally, so still sending the signal in the off position, when you flash it disengages.

Cheers, will see if a bit of jiggling will sort it.

Just switch the auto beam function off and it will work as normal.
