Only posting because I have a hugely busy weekend, and PH seems to give me decent answers faster than I can Google smile.

I purchased a set of fairly cheap used wheels from eBay 6 days ago, and still haven't heard anything from the seller. It was an auction that runs until mid December and I bought them through the "buy it now" function. I added a note to the purchase order asking for collection details, and have sent another email since, but no response. The seller is listed as being in the next town to me, so it's not a huge bother, I'd just like the wheels before Xmas.

I don't want to cause a fuss, but am unsure what to do. I've been buying though eBay for years, and this is the first time I've ever had any sort of problem. Should I give the seller more time? It's only been a week after all.

Cheers.

Surely you can find his details where you purchased it? I thought that's how ebay worked.. i'd say just go over there if you can find his address..

''After successfully completing a transaction, you may be able to request your seller's contact information.''

https://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/contact.html

Will give you address and telephone number, either pop round or give them a ring.

If the auction was set to run until mid-Dec, maybe they're currently away and not checking emails?

I requested a refund through eBay, noting that the seller wasn't responding. Today I got an email from PayPal saying my refund wasn't successful. It was dated the 3rd of December, before I requested the refund, so I guess he no longer has the item, and has no funds in the bank so the refund bounced.

I'm trying to continue the dispute. Don't want to give up on the £55 without at least some fight.

I thought half the point of paying stloads of fees to PayPal and eBay (same thing) is that you don't get fked over like this? Surely PayPal should refund you and they chase the account holder? If not, where is the buyer protection that they're getting fees for?

PayPal/ebay will give a seller at least a week to respond to a return request and will not entertain a refund demand in that time. If the seller doesn't respond then by default you will get your money back. You jumped the gun asking for a refund in that time, it has nothing to do with whether or not the seller has the item or the funds to cover the refund (and I think you are jumping to unfounded conclusions there).

Be patient. If your claim is genuine then based on the information you have given us you should be covered.

I think if I carry on I'll get something back. I think the "refund not successful" is just his account bouncing, not PayPal being uncooperative.

It is a pain though. Id like the money straight back, but if it was that simple I suppose loads of scammers would buy items then complain knowing the money would come straight back to them.

As for the advice. I'll be patient, and hopefully it'll all work out. Thanks smile
