A quick question if I may.... Was watching some Clarkson programme the other day, when he was talking about "some V8" engine which a variety of cars use/used.....Including Rover, Morgan and quite a few others that I've forgotten.
My question is do the other makes suffer from the reliability issues that the Cerb does, or are there other reasons for this?
Cheers.

My griff (nee Chimaera) running costs where about £1k p.a. (admittedly didnt do many miles in it p.a) whilst the cerb has already cracked the £3k barrier in 9 months (but I have had some 'extras' done to it)
Chims/Griffs will be considerably cheaper to run than a cerb (yes, there's always the exceptions), but then I havent factored into the equation the following additional expenses;
Add to Griff ownership: Gold chains/chest wig and buying into hairdressing salon.
Add to Chim ownership: Set of Calloway golf clubs, golf club membership/green fees, many 'lake' golf balls....oh and all the Pringle clobber

Chilli, if you want a Chim I have a 2000 4.0 for sale,

I think your talking about the "ROVER v8" as opposed to the AJP8 (high revving flat plane crank v8) which is fitted in the cerbera and is TVRs own engine! completely different kettle of fish old chap!
The AJP V8 is actually a reliable engine. (I bet I break down now). It tends to be other parts of the car that can be unreliable, such as the electrics. Having said that, it is a special car, and I dont think its only akin to TVR Cerberas.

What other sort of plane is there? (Waits for stupid jokes about wings.)

Ok Mr grammar pedant - flat-plane crank, that better?
No. It's a superflous word issue. Should be flat crank or more correctly plane crank. In plane if you like. Flat and plane are the same thing.

Ok, thinking about it you do have a point there, however a google search on "flat-plane crank" returns 552 hits which seems to indicate that it is a term that is commonly used even if it not 100% syntactically accurate.
