Dodge Challenger SRT8
Discussion
These had been my dream car since they were released, absolutely adored them.
Of all the modern muscle, these just look right to me. The rear 1/4's, the proportions, the overall look, just love them. Never did I think i would get one, however, life's too short and all that, so started to look at them, but was left uninspired by all the black, 5.7, auto, chavved up ones on offer. I had to have a 6.1, manual, in Hemi Orange. No compromises.
After looking for a year or so, and resigning myself to not being able to get what I want, and probably having to compromise, I found an ad on PH, for an 09 SRT8, manual, in Hemi Orange with only 8500 miles.
There was a catch, the car was living in South of France, and the owner didn't want to release it for another 6 weeks when he would drive it back to the UK. Not to be put off, I contacted the owner, and arranged to visit the following weekend, with a view to taking it away.
The car was as new, unbelievable condition, hardly used at all, the owner put the miles on driving it back to the UK for MOT's, other than that, it had sat in the garage.
Deal done, and the drive home was amazing, what an experience. The looks, the waves, the people taking pictures, we expected a little, but not quite so much, it got a bit embarrassing, but all part of the fun.
Had the car 6 months now, which for me is a long time as I get bored and want to try something new pretty quickly, and as this is a weekend/fun car, it doesn’t get used as much, so not had the chance to get bored yet.
Every time I take it out it puts a smile on my face, and many others. The amount of thumbs up, windows down to hear it, pictures etc is just incredible, it’s great to see so many people react so positively to it.
Anyway, enough waffle, here’s a few pics:

Lovely car, I have had the pleasure of riding in this very car, although not as the driver sadly!
I have some pictures somewhere of when we took it for an hours drive towards/along to south coast of france to visit a friend of the owner who had a vast collection of interesting cars and bikes.
I'll try and find the rest of the photos, this is the only one I can find at the moment:

Gorgeous area the owner lived in, would like to visit the South of France again for sure.
Fantastic looking car. I test drove a black 6.1 auto with Scat pack when I was on holiday in Florida - great fun and would be quite practical as the boot and back seats are a decent size. But that's not why you bought it!
It must really stand out in the UK surrounded by boring silver blandmobiles. And the noise... Enjoy
